Dry Water

This is how the concrete looks now that the salt has been brushed off and washed off with the rain.

Here is a picture of our almost finished kitchen. Note the lack of that ugly faux drop ceiling. We will be pulling up the linoleum next.

Here is a picture of our pool with all the concrete poured. They PROMISED me that it will not remain that dark.

Here is a close up of the treatment they are using on the concrete. That is salt. They are allegedly brushing it off today. Stay tuned for the final results.

Pool Tile and Coping

We now have the pool tile and coping in -- making progress! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the new tile. Which is good because we couldn't see it before we bought it. They were there all weekend getting ready to pour the concrete which should be Thursday. Tom and I walked around it yesterday -- the grid feels like you're playing hopscotch.

Very slowly -- but surely. I think it looks like a giant chessboard.

A Most Remarkable Gift

We had Christmas early this year because Tom and I are going to Ann's house early tomorrow to spend the day with the McIntyres. So imagine my surprise when I was presented with a wonderful picture from my nieces and nephews. I smile every time I see it. The gift was wonderful and thoughtful and I love, love, love it. And I love that it comes from people I love as much as I love them. Thanks guys! It's one of the nicest gifts I have ever received.
